Risk Management VI
There are twelve (12) lessons in the Risk Management VI Online Training Course. You may take these lessons in any order. Each lesson is divided into sections (the number of sections vary from lesson to lesson). You must complete all of the sections before you take the evaluation (test) at the end of each lesson. You are strongly encourage you to complete a lesson or section once you have started it.
As seen in the picture above, you can see which sections you have completed and which sections you still need to complete.
On each page of the course in the upper left hand corner is the name of the section that you are presently in. You can navigate through the course using the following buttons located in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
Throughout each lesson there will be the following:
  1. Content/Information pages
  2. Do You Know questions
  3. Test Yourself questions
  4. Evaluation
1. Content / Information pages
These pages will display content and/or graphics regarding the Do's and Don'ts of each of the lessons.
2. Do You Know questions
Each lesson begins with pre-test questions to see how much you may already know about Risk Management. Select your answer(s) and click on the 'Check Answers' button. Whether you are correct or incorrect, you are not judged on these questions.
After you submit your answer(s) you will be shown a feedback screen (Correct or Incorrect):
3. Test Yourself questions
Test yourself questions are presented at the end of each section. These questions will be related to the material in that section only. Again, whether you are correct or incorrect, you are not judged on these questions, but will be provided feedback screens.
Questions are presented in various formats - multiple choice, true/false and "Drag and Drop" options.
On the "Drag and Drop" pages, you will be asked to select an answer and drag it onto the appropriate answer(s) (selecting the answer with your mouse and holding down the mouse button). If you are incorrect, the graphic will automatically be returned to its original position until you select the correct answer. If you are correct, the graphic will be placed over the correct answer. Once you have made all the correct choices, please click the 'Next" button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
4. Evaluation
At the end of each lesson is the actual evaluation (test). You will be judged on these questions. There are between 10 - 20 questions for each lesson. You must complete the test in order to get credit for the lesson.
If you answer correctly you can move on to the next question. If you answer incorrectly, you will be given the correct answer to the left side of the screen. You will be asked to select the correct answer(s) before you can continue.
When you have completed the test for a lesson, you are presented with a congratulatory screen letting you know you have successfully completed that particular lesson.
From here you can opt to take another lesson, log off the Risk Management VI Course, read the FAQ's for that lesson (additional questions not covered in the lesson), or e-mail the New York State Dental Association with comments/questions.
If you close your browser during the content of the lesson (ie: general information page, Do-You-Know or Test Yourself) the next time you log in you will be directed to the page you exited.
If you close your browser during the evaluation (test), the next time you log in you will be brought back to the beginning of that particular evaluation (test). It is recommended that you to complete a lesson, section or test once you have started it.
When you successfully completed all twelve (12) lessons, you will be provided with a link to print your Certificate of Completion. Continuing education credits will be recorded automatically to the NYSDA Registry for NYSDA members and subscribing dental hygienists ONLY.
